Citibank CashReturns MasterCard Review
Citibank (or Citi minus the umbrella - as they recently renamed themselves) has somewhat quietly launched a new credit card: The Citi CashBuilder MasterCard.
Just what we all need right? Another cash back credit card that gives 1% plus 3% at blah blah blah…
Well, you’re right. The CashBuilder offers very little that’s innovative above the currently available cashback cards. However, given good promotional offers and some conveniences it is definitely still worth a look.
- Only for those with good-excellent credit
- You get 5% cash back on purchases for the first 3 months (go ahead and splurge, that’s what they want you to do anyway)
- 0% APR balance transfer for first 12 months - not a bad balance transfer offer at all, but keep in mind that you won’t be taking advantage of the cash back offer if you use a balance transfer. Since they make you pay the lowest APR balances first, DO NOT spend after using a balance transfer
- 1% cash back afterwards
- You also get higher cashback offers when shopping through Citi’s own retailer network with over 400 retailers…but who actually does this?
- 10.99% Variable APR - quite a decent APR
- No annual fee
Really, a decent card. Not the best and definitely not the worst. For those that are interested in taking advantage of the balance transfer and then having a very usable card can apply.
